Pentlow values volunteers

Local volunteers are pictured at Pentlow Nursing home, Summerdown Road, Eastbourne, as part of the Volunteers’ Week, a national celebration of volunteers and volunteering which takes place from 1 – 7 June of each year. This year, Volunteers' Week is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Lesley Wicks, manager of Pentlow “Our volunteers are fantastic. They provide another valued contribution to the lives of our residents. Whether simply reading the newspaper for someone, going for a walk or taking part in a game of scrabble, the volunteers are another breath of fresh air".

With more than 22 million people throughout the UK donating their time and effort in one way or another every year, this week is used to recognise their valued contribution to society as well as encouraging others to consider getting involved.

As part of Canford Healthcare group, Pentlow nursing home, registered for 61 residents, is always looking for more volunteers. If you would like to be involved contact Lesley Wicks at Pentlow Tel 01323 722245 or visit www.volunteersweek.org.uk
