OPEN COFFEE MORNING AT PENTLOW AND INGLEWOOD
Two of Eastbourne’s leading nursing homes, Pentlow in Summerdown Road and Inglewood in Hampden Park are simultaneously hosting open-house coffee mornings in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
On Friday 25 September at 10.30am the nursing homes are inviting everyone to pop in and join them as part of the world’s biggest coffee morning.
With freshly ground coffee and a selection of teas on offer the Canford Healthcare homes hope to have lots of fun while also raising money for Macmillian. There will be a range of delicious home baked cakes, buns and biscuits to enjoy as well as a raffle to win a cake to take home.
“This is such a worthwhile cause we hope the local community will pop in and show support. Our residents enjoy the buzz associated with these organised mornings and visitors to the homes always help raise spirits. By hosting this coffee morning, we hope to raise more funds for the vital services that Macmillan provide,“ said Lesley Wicks, Manager at Pentlow.
Inglewood nursing home is registered to accommodate 60 people, while Pentlow nursing home has capacity for 61 residents. Pentlow also holds the Beacon Award for Palliative Care placing it in the top 25 care homes in the UK for end of life care.
Last year more than 45,000 people held coffee mornings and raised over £7.5million. Everyday 822 people in the UK are told they have cancer. This is news that not only turns their world upside down but also affects their family and friends. Macmillan’s ambition is to help everyone of these people by providing emotional, practical and financial support they need.
